Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Found Sound collects, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it.
Who we are
Found Sound is operated by Josh Holmes, trading as Found Sound, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. We provide digital infrastructure services for independent musicians, including website builds, smart links, analytics setup, and monthly management.

What data we collect
We collect data in two contexts: when you request a free audit, and when you correspond with us directly.
Audit requests: when you submit the free artist audit form, we collect your artist name, email address, Spotify or Instagram link, and any optional context you provide about your challenges. This data is stored securely in our database.
Correspondence: if you email us directly or book a call, we retain those communications for the purpose of fulfilling our service.
We do not collect payment card data directly — payments are handled entirely by Stripe, whose own privacy policy applies to payment processing.
How we use your data
Audit requests are used solely to fulfil the audit — reviewing your setup and sending you a personalised Loom video with findings. We will also send you a confirmation email when you submit.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not add you to marketing lists without explicit consent. If you engage with us as a paying client, we use your contact details to deliver and manage the service.
Third-party processors
We use the following third-party services to operate the business. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf:
Supabase — database and infrastructure (EU-based data storage). Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
Resend — transactional email delivery. Privacy policy: resend.com/privacy
Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and setup fees. Privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
Calendly — call booking. Privacy policy: calendly.com/privacy
Vercel — website hosting and deployment. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
Cookies
Found Sound uses minimal cookies. Our website may set session cookies required for normal operation. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies on the marketing site.
If you proceed to book a call via Calendly or make a payment via Stripe, those services set their own cookies governed by their respective policies.
Your rights under UK GDPR
As a UK resident (or EU resident under GDPR), you have the following rights:
Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it.
Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data.
Right to data portability — you can ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@foundsound.io. We will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
Audit request data is retained for 24 months from submission, or until you request deletion.
Client data is retained for the duration of the service relationship and for 7 years after termination, in line with UK financial record-keeping requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is always available at foundsound.io/privacy. Material changes will be communicated to active clients by email.
